Bobbie Baker - Child Play Therapist (LMFTA) in Seattle, WA
Picture
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in private practice in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood,  I am passionate about working with young children and their families.  Children are always expressing themselves through their actions and behaviors, sometimes in misguided ways.   It is our job as caring adults to figure out what they are trying to communicate and help them transform those confusing and challenging feelings and create a greater sense of ease, calm, and safety.

A graduate of the Couples and Family Therapy and Art Therapy programs at Antioch University Seattle,  I have also completed the extensive training required to be a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).   In addition, I have training in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, EMDR, Developmental Trauma, Attachment, Child-Centered Play Therapy and the Oaklander Model.

I create a warm, compassionate, and supportive therapeutic environment for children and adults.  Working from a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive perspective and with an unwavering belief in each child's uniqueness and innate capacity for growth and healing, I help make the unmanageable, manageable.  I believe that children are experts in play and parents are the experts in their children.  Together we can build stronger families with greater balance.
